Fun Facts

👯‍♀️ THE TWO SISTER (SO FAR):

”PANGEA”, the very first hull of the Amels 80 Limited Series, wasn’t alone for long.

The second hull, named “NETTO II”, was launched on February 2026. She’s now her little ‘dolphin metallic blue’ sister, visually setting her apart from “PANGEA.

According to industry data, there are now 5 Amels 80 hulls in various stages of construction (as of Feb 2026).

🤫 A VERY PRIVATE OWNER:

The owner’s identity has never been publicly revealed.

What we do know: the owner may be based in North America and that he might be a self-made tech billionaire!

Sean Bianchi, head of Burgess new construction, noted that ‘much of the design development was personally overseen by the owners’, suggesting a very hands-on, deeply involved client.

The yacht is also not available for charter (so far), which further underlines just how personal this project is.

🏗️ BORN IN ROMANIA, RAISED IN THE NETHERLANDS:

”PANGEA” ’s build story is a tale of two shipyards. The steel hull was constructed and the keel was laid at Damen Yachting’s Galați facility in Romania in August 2022.

Once the hull was complete, it was towed all the way to the Netherlands, arriving at the Vlissingen City Shipyard on November 2023, for outfitting (the painstaking process of fitting all systems, interiors, and finishing touches).

She was officially launched on April 2025, then underwent sea trials in June 2025, before being delivered on October 2025.

That’s roughly 3.5 years from keel to delivery!

🌍 PANGEA - THE NAME:

The name “Pangea” refers to the ancient supercontinent that existed roughly 200–300 million years ago, before tectonic plates split it into the continents we know today.

The name was chosen deliberately: with a 5,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots, this yacht is literally built to reconnect those scattered landmasses by sailing to all of them. Or it just sounded cool.

💰 BUILT ON A BET:

Damen Yachting (Amels Yachting - it’s the same) started building “PANGEA” on speculation (meaning they didn’t even have buyer).

The design had only been unveiled five months earlier and the gamble paid off fast - just six months after construction began, the yacht was sold.

The deal was officially announced at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show. Brokerage firm Burgess introduced the client and stayed on as the owner’s representative throughout the entire build.

⭐ OTHER AMENITIES AND INFOS:

● A 200 m² (2,153 sq ft) sundeck which is the biggest in the 80-metre class. It features a large circular Jacuzzi positioned forward surrounded by sunpads, a shaded bar amidships and a circular dining table aft for evening meals or family breakfasts. Sliding glass panels at the forward end shelter guests while underway.

● A 50 m² beach club that opens to the sea on three sides via fold-down terraces, transforming it into a semi-enclosed waterside lounge at anchor.

● Features is the 6.5-metre (21-foot) swimming pool on the main deck aft, which has transparent glass floor sections.

● The owner’s suite isn’t just a cabin, it occupies an entire dedicated deck spanning 517 square metres. It contains: A master suite with two bathrooms, a private office, an owner’s lounge with a breakfast area, a private library, a private Jacuzzi on the outside deck and direct access to outdoor areas with panoramic views

● Features a certified foredeck helipad that supports touch-and-go operations for aircraft up to 4,000 kg.

● She’s the first hull of the new Amels 80 Limited Editions series!

● It’s also the very first collaboration between Espen Øino and Sinot interior!

● The custom-build tenders: An 11.7-metre Limousine tender, designed with a hull shape specifically sculpted to mimic the mothership’s profile; and a DRIB (Dive/Rescue/Inflatable Boat), a versatile vessel that switches between dive boat, fishing boat, beach lander and guest transporter.
