Operating on a revolutionary 1,000-volt DC system (compared to SAVANNAH's 560 volts), “OBSIDIAN” is fully electric-powered with no drive shafts or rudders, eliminating drag.
Propulsion and steering are achieved through optimized Veth contra-rotating thrusters developed through computational fluid dynamics analysis for maximum efficiency and minimal vibration.
The yacht can cruise for 35 nautical miles at 10 knots solely on battery power, and provides 10-15 hours of silent operation at anchor.

“OBSIDIAN” 's interior design breaks every conventional yacht design rule. Created by British firm RWD in collaboration with MONK Design, the yacht's design language centers on the theme of surprise and asymmetry.
Except for the staterooms, none of the interior rooms feature any 90-degree angles. Corridors and rooms are oriented away from the traditional fore-and-aft or athwart ships axis, creating unexpected elegance and intriguing visual perspectives.
Even the swimming pool sits diagonally behind smoked glass on the asymmetric stern, adding to the yacht's distinctive character.
