      Fun facts

      2️⃣ TWO YACHTS OR NOTHING:

One of the most compelling stories regarding the birth of the ”Multiverse” is the negotiation strategy employed by Hart (the original owner) with the Kleven Verft shipyard in Norway.

Kleven was a dedicated builder of commercial tonnage - ships meant to service oil rigs in the North Sea - definitely not yachts. They had no infrastructure for, or interest in, dealing with the fickle demands of a private yacht owner.

Rumors say that when Hart approached Kleven, they weren’t interested in building a one off (they build commercial vessel, they sell on quantity) and they were concerned about how a custom vessel would disrupt their books. Hart’s response was characteristically bold: he offered to sign a contract for two vessels simultaneously. This solution provided the shipyard with the economic volume necessary to justify taking on the project.

This deal resulted in the construction of two sisters:

      • Hull 366 (107 meters): The first ”Ulysses”, delivered in 2016. It served as a proof of concept. After its delivery, Hart quickly sold it to Yuri Milner (who renamed it Andromeda) to make way for the larger vessel.

      • Hull 370 (116 meters) : The vessel now known as ”Multiverse”. Delivered in 2018, this ship was an evolution of the first, approximately 9 meters longer and significantly more voluminous (6’862 GT vs 5’937 GT).

      🤯 A YACHT INSIDE A YACHT:

The most distinctive feature of ”Multiverse” is its ability to carry a fleet of tenders that rivals the navies of small nations. The centerpiece of this fleet is a 21-meter Princess 68 motor yacht.

      • The boat isn’t a standard tender. It is a fully independent luxury yacht with a flybridge, three guest cabins and a top speed of 30-36 knots.

      • This "mothership" concept allows the 116m vessel to anchor safely in deep water while the owner utilizes the Princess 68 to access shallow bays, enter small marinas for dinner, or undertake multi-day independent excursions up rivers like the Amazon.

      • The Launch Mechanism: The tender is stowed on the foredeck (the ‘well deck’). It is deployed using two massive, custom-built commercial cranes capable of lifting its 45-ton weight over the high bulwarks.
