Fun Facts
😡 THE ORIGINAL OWNER COULDN’T TAKE DELIVERY OF THE MEGAYACHT:
Originally commissioned in 2020 as "Project Alibaba" by Russian billionaire Leonid Mikhelson.
Mikhelson owned the 85-meter Lürssen yacht “PACIFIC” (delivered in 2010, designed by the same designer Germán Frers) and this new 142-meter vessel was intended as a significant upgrade.
However, due to international sanctions imposed on Russian wealth following Russia's war in Ukraine, Mikhelson was unable to complete the purchase or take delivery.
Enter Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, who acquired the yacht during construction. The vessel was officially delivered in November 2024.
🔎 AMENITIES:
● Glass-bottom pool on the main deck with waterfalls and openable backgrounds
● Cinema for private screenings
● Full spa and wellness center with sauna, gym, and jacuzzi
● Beauty salon
● Water sports center with extensive toys and tenders
● Two helipads: one on the foredeck and one on the sundeck aft
● Hidden helicopter hangar on the upper deck, capable of housing a Leonardo AW139 helicopter
● Dedicated business deck featuring a spacious office, games room and a gym
● Beach club with innovative 180-square-meter double-folding stern platform system that allows the deck above to fold into the platform, creating a massive waterside social area with direct water access
● Fold-out balconies on both port and starboard sides above the wing stations and in the beach club area
● Tender garage with large access doors
● Underwater lights for nighttime ambiance
● Elevator for accessibility throughout the vessel
● Shaded pool and multiple outdoor dining and lounging areas
🦋 THE “FLY” FLEET:
Sergey Brin has a clever tradition: he names almost every yacht and boat in his collection with the word "fly" in it.
The fleet is composed by:
● ”DRAGONFLY”
● ”BUTTERFLY” (a 38/40m yacht)
● ”FIREFLY” (a smaller chase boat)
Pretty funny!
